The piping system must be designed and installed with the same care as other components of the system, taking into account both the pump diameter and the material of construction to correctly accommodate the fluid type and velocity.
The three main types of pipes for pumping systems are tubing (semi rigid), pipe (rigid) and hose (flexible). Rigid pipe may be the best option for a large stationary system, but flexible hose may be a better choice where units are free to move relative to each other. System pressure and flow must be considered to correctively identify the best option.
Pipe Fitting & Maintenance
Care is as important in piping assembly as it is to the pump installation. If the piping system is incorrectly fitted the pumps cannot operate safely and efficiently. Joints, valves and fittings must be kept tight, and frequent test and inspections must be made to check for leaks or defects in the system.
