Martin Stähle, the founder of Hidrostal and a native of the Canton of Glarus, Switzerland, travelled to Peru and later back to Switzerland to inspire us all with his success story of innovation and belief in independence. To this day our mission to serve our customers and protect our environment is inspired by his legacy.

Martin Stähle sets up first operation (engineering office) in Lima, Peru
1955
Martin Stähle receives a development contract for a pumping system capable of handling fish without damage, resulting in the development of the screw-centrifugal impeller

Construction of current Hidrostal works in Lima, Peru including foundry
1967
Foundation of Hidrostal AG in Neunkirch, Switzerland to serve industry and emerging environmental market in Europe for sewage and sludge treatment. Pump components are imported from Lima and assembled in Neunkirch. Pumps are first used in the sewage sector.
1970s
Development of a Hidrostal submersible electric motor line in order to handle the requirement of submerged operation in the Prerotation System. Increased market presence in Europe by appointing distributors in countries such as Germany, Austria, Holland, Denmark and France.
1980s
Increased market presence worldwide by appointing distributors in USA/Canada and Asia.

Start of a production site in Hungary

Erection of a foundry in Neunkirch, Switzerland, enabling Hidrostal AG to meet special demands for high chromium, cast stainless steel and other special alloys
